Sorry for setting off those alarms yesterday, especially if you are also part of the population with ears that are particularly sensitive to high, loud noises. Like alarms. Or klaxons.

Oh and uh.. sorry for the misunderstanding, Doug? And the women with you? My danger sense was a little haywire after being blown through the portal.

So.. I’m April. Or maybe I’m May. We never could figure out which was which.

Once upon a time, in a dimension seemingly similar to yet very different from your own..

In the dimension I'm from I’m known as April Parker, the twin/genetic clone/cousin of May Parker (depending on who you ask), daughter/niece of Peter and Mary Jane Parker. Here? I guess I'm just your friendly stranded dimensional traveler spider-girl?

That was a wild one to write. I didn't study the right science for this sort of thing.

So yeah. I'm here for the foreseeable future. In the great style of my favorite website for cute pets and getting to know new people, ask me anything? I reserve the right to tell you to pound sand if it's particularly rude or crude.

It's mostly a family joke at this point? Like, May and I have all the same memories up until they found me in the labs, and the papers that could've probably solved the Who-Is-The-Clone question got destroyed, so the first several months were pretty rough, because I'd reflexively reply to calls of her name or remember things I wasn't actually present for.

But I go by April, these days.

Definitely. I have literally what I was wearing and the sweats and t-shirt you nice folks in medical found for me.

I usually do as much thrifting as I can for everything but undergarments and shoes. Otherwise my preference is willing to spend a little more on things that last longer unless I know it's going to get destroyed easily. I usually wear low-heeled boots, since I can run in them.

Hey, I'm Clint. Doug mentioned me, but I swear I'm not actually gonna grill you on particle physics. That portal's an unstable Einstein-Rosen bridge, though, sorta like the Bifrost Thor and the other Asgardians use to travel through the nine realms. Just, you know, the Bifrost is actually stable. We're still trying to figure out how the collapse of a previously stable pocket dimension could create an ER bridge at all.

So like, when you're feeling up to it and everything, if you could give me a run-up to what might've created the portal on your side, that'd be great. I'm not making any promises, but there's the chance we could maybe find out how to send you home?

But also have you considered that the.. hm, I hate to make everything a spider analogy, but it's so easy. If a dimension is like a single layer of webbing, then it's possible the collapse acted like a stick and got multiple layers of webbing stuck together? So this portal of yours is a path to the other layers, but because of [something], sometimes the gateway is open or shut?

Yeah, we can sit down and talk science sometime. It basically just sprung up in front of me, so I'm pretty sure I won't be much help. I mean, I'm grateful to the portal even though I'm away from my world, because I'm pretty sure I'd be dead or close to it otherwise.

Hi April! (I'm just going to call you April if that's OK. I don't know much about science but I've seen my fair share of alt dimensions.) You can call me Megan or Pixie. I see my boss already asked you about your preferred pizza. What's your ideal coffee or tea?

April's fine! For coffee I like to mix good drinking chocolate with coffee that's been brewed with cinnamon, then a few splashes of milk and a good stir. Regular hot chocolate or syrup can work in a pinch, but drinking chocolate is smoother and a little decadent.

I've only had it a few times because it's fairly expensive, but my favorite tea is probably a silver needles white tea. It's very bright delicate. Favorite everyday tea is probably an oolong milk tea?

I would also have alarms on my dimensional portal if I had one, never know what might come crawling through. I looked distinctly less human when I came through and couldn't talk, which would be even more alarming. (It was alarming for May too, we didn't know I could take on a whole new form! It's been a week of firsts for me.)

I am not a great cook but I am pretty good at helping with prep, and I am also not very picky.

I am still trying to figure that out, but my initial read is that my dimension is friendlier in that regard. The supers situation is also fairly different. Like.. the Avengers that seem to be here are retired there. May's done some work with them, and I've met Cassie Lang in passing. There's the Fantastic Five, which seem to not have a counterpart here? And of course Dad, but the Peter Parker here is much closer to my age?
